George Curley
The funeral took place on Tuesday 4th October and was attended by around 200 mourners, led, of course by Sue and the Family, the Choir, members of Rotary Clubs, members of Inner Wheel and many, many others whose lives had been touched in some way by George. His list of achievements (some of which can be seen in ‘Biographies, A personal History’) took up several A4 sheets and covered achievements in most sports you can think of. The Choir opened the service with the very appropriate Welsh hymn (though in English) Gwahoddiad, which we know George would have loved to hear. ‘The Day Thou gavest, Lord, is ended’ was the communal hymn which was sung by all with great feeling.
A wonderful send off for a wonderful man; Sue and the family invited all to the Golf Club for refreshment and the opportunity to share experiences enjoyed with George over many years.

12th September. It is with great sadness that we learn of the passing of George Curley. Many will know George from other walks of life as he has always been active in sporting and business clubs; of course, the Choir has been particularly blessed to have him as their President for 35 years. His support throughout those years was tireless and he supported everything the choir did, not just in name but in person. We pass our sincere condolences to Sue, who has been by his side for all those years.
He will be greatly missed. RIP George.
