Choir Christmas Party
On Thursday 13th December, members of the choir, along with their partners and guests, gathered for a festive evening at the Alfreton Golf Club. A most enjoyable meal was accompanied by a light-hearted quiz which required a ‘singing’ answer to fill in the missing words; it’s surprising what parts you don’t know of the songs you know very well. Strangely (though not really) the newer the songs the less you know. We were also treated to the Talking Turkey monologue, backed by the ‘gobble, gobble’ choir.
The evening was arranged by Secretary John and was a credit to the hard work he obviously put in. President George Curley gave thanks for his tenure of 31 years as President and was treated to a rendition of ‘For he’s a jolly good fellow’ , a sentiment held by all in the choir and why we will not allow him to retire.
