Stan Green

The funeral of Winston Green (Stan) was held at St Martin’s Church, Alfreton at 1pm on Tuesday 23rd April and afterwards at Palmer Morewood Social Club. It was a great send off for a greatly loved and missed member of this choir. Entry to the church was heralded with the choir singing Gwahoddiad, then, after the gathering, all sang Just As I Am, a family and church favourite. The choir then sang What a Wonderful World, one of Stan’s favourites. Stephanie and Elizabeth gave the eulogy touching briefly on a life so well lived.  After the Lord’s My Sheperd and the blessing, Stan departed for Swanick Crematorium to the music of Lisa Smith playing Going Home with the choir joining in with a supporting hum.
