Meadows Care Home
In March, the Choir visited The Meadows Care Home where one of our most long standing choir members Ron Padley, along with his wife, are resident. Ron is no longer able to attend practices or concerts and we know that he misses it greatly; if he can’t come to us, we decided that we would go to him so, as a surprise, we put on a show for the home and Ron joined in as a choir member.
It was seen by the staff that the response by the residents was heartening and we have been asked to make another visit. This is due to take place on 11th June. We have said for some time, and it is becoming further recognised by the media, that singing gets through to people in many ways.
