‘ Wish Upon a Star’ Annual Showcase
When You ‘Wish Upon a Star‘ is a fitting title for our showcase this year as this is the charity chosen to be the beneficiary of the proceeds. The performance will take place at The David Nieper Academy on the 6th of October.
The choir will be joined by Sara Louisa Parry who will be contrasting the male voices as a mezzo soprano and singing some well known songs.
A Judy Garland medley: The Trolley Song/Over the Rainbow/Man That Got Away.
Memory (Cats)- Andrew Lloyd Webber,
I Dreamed a Dream (Les Misérables) Claude Michel Schonberg,
A Barbra Streisand medley : On a Clear Day/The Way We Were, Children Will Listen (Into The Woods) – Sondheim.
Sara will also join the choir to lift spirits with ‘You Raise Me Up’.
We are very pleased to announce that we will also be joined by the St Peter and St Paul Junior Choir from Chesterfield. This is a school with a strong family feel and traditional values, where academic rigour and high expectations underpin all they do. Music and Drama are a vital part of what they provide and the school stage allows children of all ages to perform regularly in a number of productions throughout the year. The school choir is renowned locally and has been successful in a number of competitions including the Buxton Music Festival.
This promises to be a very engaging and moving evening; don’t miss it!!
